In Umbria, a region of Italy, exists the medieval town of Orvieto where Damien Lovegrove bestowed a gift of his knowledge and skill to six enthusiastic photographers. Damiens forte is creating believable light, emulating sunlight streaming into his preferred venues of abandoned, grungy buildings hundreds of years old. The Villa Monteporzano was “home base” from where we day tripped about the countryside photographing three delightful models in locations that met Damien’s vision of ancient grunge. Buildings which Damien affectionately named, The Long House, The Well House, The Short House, and the Convent of the Trinity. Outdoor shoots in olive groves and Cascate eTorre di Chia, were also included to experience sunlight through foliage and trees.
Knowledge was absorbed, friendships were made, Italian cuisine was experienced, fine Italian wine was consumed, and of course beautiful images were captured.
I hope you enjoy this selection I captured of Damien’s lighting, and styling of our three beautiful models, Sigrife (@sigrife), Susanna (@susanna_fusari), and Georgia (@giorgia.pepe98).
